All of our Center for Victims Canine Teams made history this August!    They became the First Canine Advocacy Program (of any kind) allowed to accompany victims during a trial in the Federal Court House here in Pittsburgh.    We are very proud that our trauma informed teams showed excellent professionalism and expert training in providing accompaniment, support and empowerment to our clients in federal court.

August is a big Birthday month for our Canine Advocates!   Canine Advocate Cooper turned 7 years old on the 8th of August and Nelly turned 6 on the 20th of August.   If you see them wish them a Happy Birthday!

August was also a busy month for Crisis Responses for our Canine Advocates.   The dogs enjoy getting out to support our local communities especially when sad, bad or scary things happen.   Canine Advocacy helps support the Community Outreach & Intervention Specialists team and we also had some of our trauma therapists join us as well to help people process the scary events.

So a historic event, lots of birthdays and helping our friends and neighbors makes for a busy August!   Did you get to help your friends this month?
